computers in schools

I wonder if every child having their own computer will really generate the "education revolution" the government claims it will. Surely the computer is just a tool and the strength of education is in the curriculum and how the students engage with it. I think it is a good idea especially for cash strapped schools and those in economically disadvantaged areas to get computers but they also need financial investment to make it work for them in the long term.

Welcome to the program!

I agree with you about computers as tools not teachers...whilst doing reference desk work you come across students who are whizzes on the computer, but struggle to interpret an essay question.
